Rongin Hair Clip

Description

Rongin means colourful, and this clip lives up to its name. A French barrette about 8 cm long is covered in hand-printed cotton, and at its centre sits a small flower of white cowrie shells, set like petals around a round ball of thread. Cowries have been part of Bengal’s crafts and rituals for generations; here they turn a plain clip into something you will reach for every morning. We handpicked these clips in Santiniketan, where fabric, cowrie and colour meet everywhere you look. Slide one above a low bun for office, at the top of a braid for college, or with a handloom saree on a pujo morning.
