Sajo Fabric Bangle Set

Description

Sajo means dress up, and this set does it without any fuss. Each bangle is made by wrapping printed cotton or thread, round and round, over a light base, then finishing it by hand — with silver-tone charms and tiny ghungroo bells, little mirrors, or white cowrie shells, depending on the colour. We handpicked these sets from Santiniketan, where fabric, thread and colour are part of everyday life. Stack them with a handloom saree for a pujo evening, or wear them with a kurta to college.

Pick your colour:

• Yellow (with kara): 3 slim bangles plus 1 wide kara, in a bold yellow, teal, navy and white print, with silver-tone sunflower charms and ghungroo clusters
• Red: 5 wide fabric bangles alternating black and red; the black ones covered in clusters of silver ghungroo bells, the red ones with silver sunflower charms and ghungroo
• Red, 2nd design: 4 slim thread bangles — 2 with a fine red-and-white barber-pole stripe and 2 solid red with a white thread criss-cross and a tiny mirror — plus a brass spiral-top hair pin
• Maroon: 5 bangles alternating maroon paisley print and plain red, with a small mirror, a cream cord wound round the middle and white cowrie shells; no bells
• Black: 5 bangles (3 slim, 2 slightly broader) in a black and maroon print, with silver-tone flower charms and ghungroo clusters; no kara
• Blue: 5 bangles alternating indigo block print and plain royal blue, with a small mirror, a cream cord wound round the middle and white cowrie shells; no bells

• Material: hand-wrapped printed cotton fabric or cotton thread; depending on the colour, silver-tone charms and ghungroo bells, small mirrors, cotton cord and cowrie shells
• Style: slip-on bangles, no clasp
• Care: keep away from water & perfume; store in the pouch so charms and shells don’t catch
